This baked brie with jam is the ultimate low-effort, high-reward appetizer. It's rich, flavorful, and comes together in 15 minutes, making it perfect for effortless entertaining or an easy treat at home.

A platter with apple slices, bread, and a bowl of baked brie with jam topped with walnuts and rosemary; a bread slice spread with brie and jam is in the foreground.

This baked brie with jam is one of my go-to recipes for holiday gatherings because it truly could not be easier, and it's a guaranteed hit every single time. The beauty of this appetizer is how customizable it is. I usually go with raspberry jam, but cherry or apricot preserves are just as delicious. You can swap the pecans for pistachios or walnuts, or change up the herbs by using fresh thyme instead of rosemary. Serve it alongside toasted bread, crackers, and fresh fruit, and you've got a beautiful, crowd-pleasing centerpiece for Christmas, holiday parties, or any time you want something special without spending hours in the kitchen.

    Equipment

All you need to make this recipe is something to cook the brie in. You can use a Brie baking dish, which will typically fit an 8 oz round. Or simply cook it in whatever small pan you have on hand.

A wheel of Marin French triple crème brie, perfect for baked brie with jam, is served alongside bowls of chopped rosemary, walnuts, and fruit jam on a wooden surface with a sprig of rosemary.

    Ingredients & Substitutions

    • Brie - I recommend using an 8 oz wheel, but you could go larger if preferred. You can also use camembert for a similar flavor and texture.
    • Raspberry jam - I love the sweet tang of raspberry but you can easily swap with cherry preserves, apricot jam, fig jam, or even cranberry sauce to mix things up.
    • Chopped pecans - Try walnuts, pistachios, almonds, or hazelnuts for a different flavor and crunch.
    • Fresh rosemary - Substitute fresh thyme, sage, or even a sprinkle of dried herbs if fresh isn't available.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

Baked brie is best served warm right out of the oven, but you can assemble it ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to bake.

Do I need to remove the rind from the brie before baking?

No, the rind is totally edible and helps hold the cheese together as it melts.

What can I serve with baked brie?

It's delicious with crackers, sliced baguette, crostini, apple or pear slices, grapes, or dried fruit.

    Ingredients

    • 8 oz wheel of brie
    • ½ cup raspberry jam
    • ¼ cup chopped pecans
    • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Place the brie in a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet. Using a sharp knife, gently score the top of the brie about ½ inch deep, being careful not to cut all the way through.
Spread the jam evenly over the top of the brie. Sprinkle with chopped pecans and fresh rosemary.
Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the brie is warm and melty and the nuts are lightly toasted.
Serve warm with crusty bread, crackers, and fresh fruit. Enjoy!
